How Elo Works
Elo serves contextual ads inside AI chat apps. You integrate a lightweight SDK, and Elo handles everything else: from understanding what users are talking about to delivering a relevant ad card.
The flow
Section titled “The flow”-
Initialize: Add the SDK to your app and call
init()with your publisher credentials. The SDK handles visitor tracking and consent signals automatically. -
Send chat context: When you want to show an ad, pass the current conversation to the SDK. Elo uses the chat messages to understand what the user is interested in right now.
-
Keyword extraction: Elo extracts advertising keywords from the conversation using an LLM, so demand partners can match relevant ads.
-
Ad auction: Elo runs a real-time auction across multiple demand sources: programmatic exchanges and Elo’s own advertiser inventory. The highest-value ad wins.
-
Delivery: The winning ad is returned to your app as a native card (title, image, description). The SDK component renders it and handles all tracking automatically.
Tracking
Section titled “Tracking”Elo tracks three events, all handled by the SDK: no extra code needed:
- Render: the ad card appears in the UI
- Impression: the ad is 50% visible on screen for 1 second
- Click: the user taps the ad and is taken to the advertiser’s page
Privacy
Section titled “Privacy”Elo reads IAB consent signals (TCF, GPP) automatically and enforces GDPR, CCPA, and COPPA rules before any data leaves your app. See Privacy & Consent for details.
Performance
Section titled “Performance”The entire flow: from requesting an ad to rendering the card: typically completes in under 300ms.
